Terms of service

Terms of service

Last updated: 30 September 2026

These terms govern your use of secondagolf.ch, every purchase you make from us and every sale of clubs you make to us. Please read them before you order or sell. Our Delivery, Returns, Warranty, Grading and Sell pages explain the same things in plainer, practical language. These terms form the contractual basis of your purchase or sale, together with any specific terms stated on the relevant product listing or expressly agreed with you. If there is a conflict, these terms prevail unless the specific term was expressly agreed with you as an amendment to these terms.

1. Who we are

The site is operated by Seconda Golf Bradnam, trading as Seconda Golf, Thurgauerstrasse 40, 8050 Zürich, Switzerland. You can reach us at hello@secondagolf.ch. We are a retailer: we buy pre-owned clubs outright, inspect and grade them, and resell them under our own name. We are not a marketplace and we do not sell on anyone else's behalf.

2. These terms, and who can buy or sell

By placing an order, or by accepting our offer for your clubs, you accept these terms. To do either you must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a contract. If you are buying or selling on behalf of a business, you confirm you are authorised to do so.

We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to any order or sale is the one published on this page at the moment you place the order or accept our offer.

3. The clubs we sell and how we grade them

Most of the clubs we sell are pre-owned. Each pre-owned club is inspected and graded against a single published scale, with four grades: Like New, Excellent, Good and Fair. The grade describes the club's cosmetic condition; the listing sets out its measurements and shows photographs of the actual club you will receive. Because the clubs are pre-owned, a degree of wear is normal, and it is already reflected in the grade and the price. No club with a crack, a rattle, a bent or kinked shaft or a loose head is ever graded or listed.

We also sell a small number of new clubs. A new club is unused and supplied in its original packaging, it carries no condition grade, and the listing states plainly that it is new. Returns work differently for a new club, as set out in section 9.

4. Prices

Prices are shown in Swiss francs. The price shown on the listing is the amount payable for the club; delivery is added as a separate charge at checkout, as set out in section 7. We may change prices at any time, but a change never affects an order we have already accepted.

5. How your order becomes a contract

Almost every club we sell is a single, unique item. When you place an order you are making an offer to buy. We will send an email acknowledging your order; this confirms we have received it but does not yet form a contract. The contract is formed when we accept your order, which we do when we dispatch the club.

Occasionally we may be unable to accept an order, for example if the club has just been sold, if it was listed with an obvious pricing or description error, or if we suspect fraud. If that happens we will tell you and refund any payment in full. Where a price is clearly wrong and the error should reasonably have been apparent, we are not obliged to sell at that price.

6. Payment

You pay using the methods offered at checkout. Payment is taken through Shopify and its payment providers. Your card details are entered on their secure pages; we do not receive or store your card number, only the payment method, the last digits and whether the payment succeeded.

7. Delivery

Delivery costs a flat CHF 9.99 per order, however many clubs you buy, and is shown at checkout before you pay. We deliver to street addresses in Switzerland only and do not currently ship abroad, so there is no customs paperwork or import duty. We hand your order to our carrier, Planzer, within one to two working days of payment, and most parcels arrive within 1 to 2 working days of Planzer receiving the parcel. If anything will take materially longer, we will let you know.

8. Damage in transit

Until your order is delivered to you, the risk of loss or damage in transit is ours. Please check the parcel on arrival. If it is crushed, or a club has been harmed on the way, please photograph the parcel and the club before unpacking further and email us within 48 hours where possible, so that we can raise the matter promptly with the carrier. If you discover damage later, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible.

We will take the matter up with the Planzer and, where appropriate, replace or refund the club.

9. Returning a club

You may return a club within 14 days of the day it is delivered, and you do not need to give a reason. A prepaid return label is included in your parcel, so there is nothing to request and no need to sign in. The return label is always free of charge and we do not deduct its cost from your refund. Pack the club in the box it arrived in, with its headcover and anything else that came with it, attach the label over the original one and hand the parcel to the carrier.

The 14 day return period is a voluntary return right provided by Seconda Golf. Your statutory rights in relation to faulty or defective goods are not affected.

Pre-owned clubs

For a pre-owned club the 14 day period is a free trial, and the club must come back in the condition it was sold in, as shown in the listing photographs and described by its grade. You may handle and test a pre-owned club in a careful manner consistent with assessing whether it is suitable for you. You must not use it in a way that causes new marks, damage or wear.

If a club returns with marks or faults that were not present when we sent it, we will evaluate the additional damage and may deduct an appropriate amount from your refund to reflect the loss in value. Before we refund the balance, we photograph the club, compare it against our own listing photographs, and email you the reason and the amount we propose to deduct. Any deduction reflects only the loss in value, and a club that comes back as it left us is refunded in full.

New clubs

A new club is sold as new and must remain capable of being sold as new. You may open the box and examine the club, but its protective wrapping, shaft film and packaging must stay intact and the club must not be used. Returned in that state within 14 days, it is refunded in full.

A new club that has been used, or whose wrapping or packaging has been removed or damaged, cannot be returned under this section. If such a club is sent back to us, we will contact you rather than refuse it silently. Where we agree to accept it, we will evaluate the loss in value and deduct an appropriate amount, on the same evidence and with the same notice as for a pre-owned club.

None of this affects your statutory rights if a club is faulty or defective, which are covered by section 10.

Refunds

We refund the price of the club to your original payment method within three working days of inspecting the return; your bank may take a little longer to show it.

The original delivery charge is not refunded where you are returning a club because you have changed your mind or simply no longer want it. Where the return is due to an error or fault on our side, including where we sent the wrong club, the club was faulty when supplied or the club was otherwise not as described, we will refund the original delivery charge as well as the price of the club.

The return label remains free of charge in all cases.

Where a Build a Bag discount applied and a return leaves fewer than five categories in the order, the CHF 50 discount is deducted from the refund.

Because every pre-owned club is unique, we do not offer formal exchanges. To change to a different club, return the first and order the second whenever you are ready.

10. Warranty

We provide a twelve month contractual guarantee on every club we sell against defects in materials and workmanship, starting on the day the club is delivered.

A defect is a fault in how the club was made, not a mark from how it has been played. Ordinary wear, and any damage caused by use, misuse, accident or alteration after sale, is not covered. Our Warranty page describes in full what is and is not covered.

To make a claim, email us as soon as you notice the problem, with your order number, a description and two or three clear photographs, and stop using the club. If the fault is covered by our guarantee, we will, at our choice, repair the club, replace it with one of equivalent model and grade, or refund the price. Where no equivalent is available, we refund. Return postage for a valid guarantee claim is on us.

Separately from this guarantee, Swiss law provides statutory rights in relation to defects. For pre-owned clubs, the statutory warranty period is one year from delivery. For new clubs, the statutory warranty period is two years from delivery. These statutory rights apply in addition to, and are not limited by, our twelve month guarantee.

Nothing in this section limits or excludes any mandatory statutory rights or remedies.

11. Selling your clubs to us

When you send us your club's details through the sell page, you are asking us for an offer. We price each club by hand against current market prices for that model, taking into account the condition you describe, the specifications you give us and, for iron sets, the number of clubs, and we send you our offer by email, normally within 48 hours. The offer is based entirely on your description. Nothing is agreed until you accept it.

You accept an offer by replying to our email. An offer is valid for 14 days from the date of our email; after that, please ask us for a new one. Once you have accepted, these terms govern the sale.

We buy outright: once we have paid you, the club is ours to resell under our own name and warranty.

You choose one payout method for the sale: bank payout, paid through our payment provider (Wise) after inspection, or store credit, which is worth 10 percent more than the cash offer. The preference you give on the form is not binding; you confirm your choice when you accept the offer.

Once you have accepted, we send you a box for the clubs, with a prepaid label inside, and CHF 9.99 is deducted from your payout. Nothing is ever charged to you directly; the deduction simply reduces the payout, and it is stated in our offer. You arrange the collection of the parcel from your address with Planzer, using the instructions provided.

Please pack carefully, as damage that careful packing would have prevented is reflected in the final offer, and please do not tape clubs together.

Every club is inspected against the same grading scale you used to describe it. If our grade matches yours, we confirm the offer and pay it.

If we grade a club differently, we will email you a revised offer first, with the reason and a photograph of what we found. You can accept the revised offer, in which case we pay it, or decline it, in which case we return the club to you at our expense. We never pay a lower amount than offered without your approval.

If the club received is materially different from the club described in your submission, we may treat the original offer as invalid and provide a new offer based on the club actually received. You may accept the new offer or have the club returned to you at our expense.

We cannot accept clubs with cracks, rattles, bent or kinked shafts or loose heads, clubs with undisclosed missing or non-original parts, or models with no realistic resale value. If such a club arrives, we explain why and return it at our expense.

We do not buy clubs we believe to be counterfeit or stolen. We record every purchase together with the seller's details and the club's serial number.

You confirm that you own the clubs, have the right to sell them to us, and that they are not subject to any finance agreement, security interest, lien, dispute or third party claim.

If we later reasonably discover that a club was stolen, counterfeit or otherwise not lawfully owned by you, we reserve the right to cancel the transaction and take any steps available to us under Swiss law.

Collection in person

Where we agree to collect your clubs from you instead of sending a box, no box charge is deducted. The clubs are inspected after collection, and everything else in this section applies unchanged.

Cash payouts are made through Wise, the payment service we use to pay sellers. Within three business days of inspection, we send a payment link, via Wise, to the email address you used to accept the offer. You claim the payment by entering your own bank details with Wise, and we never see them. You receive the full payout in Swiss francs, and any fees charged by Wise are paid by us. You have 10 days to claim your payment. If a link expires before you claim it, we will send you a new one. Store credit is issued within the same period to a Seconda account under that email address; if you do not have one yet, it is created when the credit is issued, and you sign in with the same email address.

Please check the email address you use with us carefully. We send the payment link only to the address you used to accept the offer, and we change it only after confirming the request with you through a second channel. A payment claimed by someone else cannot be recovered. If you think a link has gone to the wrong place, tell us immediately, as an unclaimed payment can often be cancelled.

Once payment is made, the sale is complete.

You may cancel at any time before your clubs are in the post by emailing us. Once they have been sent, the sale can no longer be cancelled. If we have posted you a box, please do not cancel, and please return the box with your clubs.

12. Store credit

Store credit is worth 10 percent more than the equivalent cash offer and can be spent on any club in the shop. It is tied to your account and cannot be transferred to anyone else.

It does not expire, but it cannot later be exchanged for cash, so choose it only if you intend to buy from us.

Where an order costs less than the available store credit, the unused balance remains available for future purchases.

Store credit cannot be exchanged for cash or refunded.

13. Our responsibility to you

We take care to describe, grade and check every club accurately, and to deliver it in good condition. If we fail to meet our obligations, we are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of that failure. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, or for loss of profit or other purely commercial loss, to the extent permitted by Swiss law.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability or rights that cannot be limited or excluded under Swiss law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our fault, liability under product-liability law, or liability for intentional or grossly negligent conduct.

Nothing in these terms limits any rights or remedies you have under mandatory Swiss law.

14. Your privacy

How we handle your personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of your agreement with us.

15. General

If we are prevented from meeting our obligations by something beyond our reasonable control, we will let you know and do what we reasonably can to limit the effect; we are not responsible for delays caused in that way.

If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.

If we do not immediately enforce a right under these terms, this does not mean that we have waived that right.

These terms, together with the information contained on the relevant product listing and any other documents expressly incorporated into them, set out the agreement between you and us in relation to your purchase or sale.

These terms are published in English and may be offered in other languages for convenience. If there is any difference between versions, the English version prevails.

16. Law, jurisdiction and contact

These terms, and any dispute arising from them, are governed by Swiss law.

The courts of Zürich have jurisdiction, except where mandatory law gives you, as a consumer, the right to bring proceedings where you live.

If something is wrong, please contact us first at hello@secondagolf.ch. We would always rather put it right directly.
