What the warranty covers

We warrant that every club we sell is free from defects in materials and workmanship for one year from the day it is delivered, provided it has been used for golf in the ordinary way. A defect is a fault in how the club was made, not a mark from how it has been played. Faults we would cover include a face that cracks under normal use, a head that works loose at the hosel, an adjustable hosel that fails, or a putter insert that separates from the head.

What it does not cover

Wear and tear is not a defect. Marks on the crown, face and sole, groove wear, grip wear and scuffed headcovers are the normal result of playing golf, and they are already reflected in the club’s grade and price. The warranty also does not cover damage caused by use, however unlucky: sky marks, dents from ground strikes, contact with rocks, roots, cart paths or trees, a shaft that breaks after a mis-hit or a thrown club, or corrosion from wet storage. A club that has been altered after sale by anyone other than us, for example reshafted, bent, lengthened or shortened, is no longer covered. A new grip fitted elsewhere does not affect the warranty.

How to make a claim

Email us

Write to hello@secondagolf.ch with your order number, a description of the fault and two or three clear photos. Please do so as soon as you notice the problem and stop using the club, because continued play can turn a small defect into damage we can no longer assess.

We look at it

In most cases we can reach a view from the photos within two working days. If we need the club in our hands, we send you a prepaid label and inspect it when it arrives. We check the serial number against our record of the club we sold you.

We put it right

If the fault is a defect covered by the warranty we will, at our choice, repair the club, replace it with a club of equivalent model and grade, or refund the purchase price. If no equivalent club is available, we refund. Return postage for a valid claim is on us.

When we say no

We assess every claim honestly and we expect the same in return. We refuse a claim if the club is not the one we sold, if it has been altered, if the fault is the result of use or misuse rather than a defect, or if there are signs that damage has been disguised or a fault has been staged. In those cases we explain our findings and return the club to you.

Common questions

Are shafts covered?

Yes. A shaft failure caused by a defect is covered. A shaft that breaks after a mis-hit, a ground strike or being thrown is not.

Does the warranty pass on if I sell the club?

No. It applies to the customer who bought the club from us.

What if a fault appears after 1 year?

Get in touch anyway. We cannot promise anything outside the warranty period, but we will look at it and tell you what we can do.

I had the club regripped elsewhere. Am I still covered?

Yes. A new grip is a normal part of owning a club. Reshafting, bending or changing the length elsewhere is different and ends the warranty.

Is this the same as a return?

No. A return is for a club that is not right for you, within 14 days of delivery. The warranty is for a club with a defect, for one year.
